The Third Annual Anglophile Channel Awards Are Here!
We are excited to announce that VOTING is open for the
2016 Favorite British Artists of the Year!
Plus some exciting SURPRISES!
British Artists Reigned Supreme
British artists continued to dominate all areas of entertainment in 2016, enjoying success in film, television, theatre and music. Their lovely faces graced magazine covers, movie posters, red carpets, talk shows and more. Their brilliant performances have been lauded by critics and audiences alike.
This year saw another Oscar/BAFTA nominated performance by Eddie Redmayne in The Danish Girl while countryman Idris Elba pulled double duty on both the big and small screen with multi-award winning turns in Beasts of No Nation and Luther. British icon Dame Maggie Smith continued to entertain us as the Dowager Countess on Downton Abbey while still having time to film The Lady In The Van, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. In music, British vocal superstar, Adele, came back after a four year absence with the chart-topping hit, 25. There hasn’t been an area where British artists haven’t reigned supreme in 2015!
Once again The Anglophile Channel, and our fans, have a big job on our hands in choosing which artists to honor this year.
Bigger, Better TAC Awards!
2016 marks the Third Annual Anglophile Channel Awards! We are very excited to announce that our awards event is evolving into something bigger and more exciting! As a result a few things will be changing in the voting process as well. This year our Actor/Actress categories in film and television will be renamed as “Best Actor/Best Actress” instead of ”Favorite”. The fans will still get to vote in these categories, for the performances they feel were the standout of 2015, as well as for Favorite British Artist of the Year, these votes will then be combined with the votes from TAC’s nominating committee, comprised of all industry professionals.
An Awards Gala Fit For Royalty
This year we are very excited to announce that our awards gala will be held at the British Consul-General Residence. The very same private residence where Prince William and Catherine The Duchess of Cambridge stayed during their 2011 visit to Los Angeles!
Our red carpet event will not only be the official award presentation gala for our Favorite British Artist of the Year but a fundraiser for the charity supported by our recipient, as well. Limited amount of tickets will be made available to supporters of The Anglophile Channel. (Dates and more info on this event to follow.) What can be more exciting than that?
First Things First!
Before we begin picking out our party frocks we must first pick our nominees!
Now begins the voting process! There are FIVE categories for which to vote for nominees: Best Actor/Actress in a Film, Best Actor/Actress in a Television Series and Favorite British Artist of the Year!
If you DON’T see the name of your favorite artist in any given category, be sure to WRITE IT IN!! Every British artist is eligible! Note: In the “Best Actor/Actress” categories we have opened it up to artists who also perform in Brit-themed fare (i.e. productions filmed in the UK.)
Nominations Voting Ends February 18th !
The TOP FIVE nominees will be chosen from each category. Nominations for The Anglophile Channel Awards will be announced the week of February 22nd .
All of The Anglophile Channel Awards recipients will be presented with the beautiful TAC Crystal Award, just like last year’s Favorite British Artist of the Year Award recipient, Sam Heughan…who took his awards home to Scotland!
And our very FIRST Anglophile Channel Favorite British Artist of the Year, Richard Armitage, has given his TAC Award a place of honor next to Thorin Oakenshield’s Orcrist.
Voted. Can we vote more that once. And, How do we get in on the Red Carpet Gala Fund Raiser Event?
