First Look at Eddie Redmayne in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them [PHOTOS]

Anglophile Alert! Calling all Potterheads! Entertainment Weekly has just released the first sneak peek look at Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, straight from the set of J.K. Rowling‘s Fantstic Beasts and Where To Find Them!

Redmayne makes an AWESOME wizard!

Redmayne makes an AWESOME magizoologist!

Fantastic Beasts is  a (sort of) Harry Potter pre-quel in that it’s set in the wizarding world about 70 years before Harry reads the book at Hogwarts. The film which is currently filming at the Leavesden studios in London follows the adventures of Newt Scamander (Redmayne) in New York’s secret community of witches and wizards.

Here are the first photos from the set, thanks to EW!

The film is directed by David Yates who has helmed four previous Harry Potter movies and marks Rowling’s first outing as a screenwriter. The film also co-stars: Ezra Miller, Colin Farrell, Samantha Morton, Ron Perlman, Carmen Ejogo, Gemma Chan, and Jon Voight.

It’s a good time to be a Potterhead because J.K. is also giving us the upcoming stage play, “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” will serve as a sequel to HP and take place 19 years after “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” with a storyline that revolves around an adult Harry and his youngest son, Albus. The play debuts in London in June 2016.

Fantastic Beasts is set for a November 2016 release and we can’t wait for all of it!

Lady Anglophile….wand in hand and ready to return to the wizarding world of Harry Potter!
