While much of the storm itself was created digitally, practical effects were also extensively used to portray the force, power and destruction on the ground. A custom vehicle was built specifically for the film nicknamed the Titus. This tank-like vehicle has bulletproof windows and grappling claws that keep it grounded during 170 mph winds. It also has 24 cameras that record footage for the storm-chasers used in the film.
If the Into The Storm Oculus Experience was anything to go by, this film is going to rock your world! We truly felt like we were in the eye of the storm!
“Into the Storm” is an adrenaline thrill-ride that takes you directly into the destructive path of massive tornadoes, as told through the eyes and lenses of storm chasers running toward the vortex as well as ordinary people fighting to survive nature at its most extreme. The film stars Richard Armitage (“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug”), Sarah Wayne Callies (TV’s “The Walking Dead”), Matt Walsh (“Ted”), Alycia Debnam-Carey (“Where the Devil Hides”), Arlen Escarpeta (“Final Destination 5”), Max Deacon (“Hatfields & McCoys”), Nathan Kress (TV’s “iCarly”), and Jeremy Sumpter (“Soul Surfer,” TV’s “Friday Night Lights”).

What I love most about RA – I love how he has shown his great appreciations for his fans/well wishers by visiting with them at the stage door every night of The Crucible. If only I had the means to attend a performance myself…..sigh…
I love his intensity, the fact that he puts his mind and soul in every character he plays. And, of course, that glorious beard!
His voice… And Mr. Thornton.
He appreciates his fans sometimes more than I think many of his fans appreciate him. He’s a charming and sweet man who puts everything into his roles. What’s not to love??
I love how funny he was with you in the interview!!
Wow, What do I love most about Richard Armitage??? I think the first thing that comes to mind is how kind and gracious he is. I have never read a negative comment from someone who has met him. How many “actors” do you know that would stop the vehicle they were in to talk to “a fan” and to thank them for their support? The first time I saw him, it was the way he acts with his eyes that grabbed me. His voice is self-explanatory. I love the diversity of characters he has played and watching his career grow. I have always wanted to visit London, and now, I will be flying to London from California in early September to see The Crucible. All because of Richard Armitage.
First of all, thank you for the chance to win awesome stuff, and I still can’t believe you interviewed Richard! What I admire most about him is his dedication to his fans! I recently read that he stayed out sighting autographs in the rain after his Crucible performance. He lets his fans know he cares, which is really awesome. He’s so kind and considerate. He has a big heart, that’s one of the reasons why I love him! -Adriana R.
What do I love about Richard Armitage? The fact that he puts everything and more into the characters he portrays and acts with his eyes. How humble, down-to-earth, and gracious he is to everybody he comes into contact with. How many actors do you know that would stop the car he is in so he can talk to a fan and thank them for supporting him and his career. He’s the only one I know of. He’s the reason I am a part of more UK fandoms than American fandoms.
That’s a hard decision…I will go with his voice and his down to earth humble nature.
What I love most is how much he cares – about his fans, going out every night during The Crucible to huge lines of fans wanting to meet him, even though he’s exhausted from the play; and about his characters, with creating back stories for every role he plays, and how much he wants the performances to be genuine. He’s so kind and generous and I wish I had the opportunity to meet him.
What do I love most about Richard Armitage….I love the way he talks, and laughs, and smiles. I love the way he becomes a character. I love the way he cares about others. I love the way he truly devotes himself. When you’re in front of him, its only you and him. He creates that intimacy. I just love him, I guess. It’s kind of foolish to but, what’s love without some foolishness?
Let’s see, what do I love about Richard? What is there not to love? He is an amazing actor, and he cares about his fans. Let’s not forget that voice 🙂 I could listen him reading a menu and love it! Thanks for the opportunity to win some swag and thanks for the Anglophile channel, it is awesome and Marlise rocks.
I have made so many friends, because of him. I have made my self a better person and he has inspired me to help people more and be true to myself. I have been writing poems again because of him. I think we all need him and he needs us. I have over 167 friends on FB and found The Anglophile Channel. TY for having him on and glad he is in all of our lives. I found him in The Hobbit and I will follow him till I can’t no more. I am also very happy for this movie. About 5 years ago, I was helping people get to a safe place where I live. I live in a trailer park. The manager wouldn’t open the office for anyone, there were people with kids and older people. My mom and dad and I went over and someone kicked the door in, I was telling people to get inside. I know what it feels like to be even just a mile away from a tornado, getting hit by golf ball size hail and the wind was crazy. There were 5 houses a mile away that were total gone. The manager was going to kick everyone out of the park, but we made the world news and they couldn’t do it. It was because we broke into the office to save lives. I am just glad that Mr. Armitage is here and he is here to say!
CONGRATULATIONS SARA RENEE You are the WINNER of the INTO THE STORM GIVEAWAY! Please email us at: TheAnglophileChannel@gmail.com with your mailing address! Congratulations once again and thank you for being a part of The Anglophile Channel!
OH thank you so much, this means the world to me!!!!!!! 🙂
I like the fact he appears to be a humble, working actor who appreciates his good luck, that he is more interested on taking on rich, complex characters (even if they are not likable) and that his theater roots are still so important to him.
One thing I admire about Richard is his drive and dedication to his craft. He knew what he wanted from an early age, he plotted a course on how to achieve it, and he went for it. And it’s paid off! So glad for you, Richard!
The easy answer is Everything. But I love how he takes the time to talk to fans (if he can) and I have yet to see him give a short answer to a reporters question. Also his voice. 🙂
a hard question but the biggest thing is that humble quality he exudes, that he truly does not seem to comprehend why he has such a fan base, and he is chuffed to bits that he does. That and his voice….. oh dear, the voice.
What I like most about Richard is his dedication to his work and also to his fans. I was so lucky to meet him at the stage door. I’m looking forward to see and hear more of him in the future. And of course, he is Thorin Oakenshield 🙂 I wasn’t too sure when I first heard about him playing Thorin but they couldn’t have found a better one 😀
What I love most about RA? There are a lot of things… First his great talent. Normally I don´t prefer an actor, but he is special. He managed to make me cry. I normally don´t cry in films or TV-shows.
I like how he behave with his fans/well wishers. He is always friendly and kind. I like his humbleness. I never heard he was unkind. His fantastic voice. I love to listen to his audiobooks.
But there is another thing. Because of him I met my best friend…my soulmate and she is very important for me. (I am from Northern Germany, she is from the South… our own North&South-Story :p) Thank you, Richard 🙂
I love his voice the most. It’s such a wonderful instrument along with his eyes. He could tell me stories every day and I would never tire of hearing it. His humility is so refreshing as well. His hard work all these years has paid off and I wish him success in his future pursuits, wherever they take him. Hope I can see him on stage one day.
What I love most? So difficult to say, but I think it is his voice. And… you have to see him on stage, It is overwhelming. I truly love him. 🙂
What I love most about him is his voice. But I also like how he is dedicated to his work.
He is so talented *sigh* =)
What I love about Richard are many things… his dedication and commitment in his work, his ability to dive in fully… that he cares about his fans… his thoughtfulness, honesty and authenticity… his versatile talent and his humour… his big heart and most of all his ability to inspire fans and to open people’s hearts just by his presence, by being him… 🙂
I have never known Richard Armitage not before the hobbit first movie. His act as Thorin has triggered me to find out more about him as a personal and also through his past film works and since then I truly crazy about this guy. A true gentleman, a great actor, educated man and his personalities which I think are lovably a woman would fall. I love to see the way he speaks, act or even how serious he is as a person, a man with a charisma, and watching his rising star I think that he truly deserve it. All wishes the greatest for him, may his dreams come true.
I think I can´t decide what I love most about Richard Armitage. I love his laugh, his voice, his friendly an human kind (manner?). I love how he is acting; he does his job with so much love and passion; you feel it, that he likes to be an actor; his dedication for every single character he plays is amazing (i can´t find the right words for); and I love, how he speaks with his eyes. I´m sad that I can´t see him in The Crucible 😦 and I love his love to his fans, for us (I would say/write more, but my english is awful; sorry for my bad english; I try to improve it) I love it that Richard is how i is – being himself.
Lovely greetings from Austria
Elisabeth
There are so many things that I love about Richard Armitage but one thing that sticks out is his strong character. He appears to be a man of integrity who treats others with respect without fail. That includes his co-workers, as well as, the supporters of his work.
Pingback: Two giveaways … no, I can’t give you Richard Armitage | Me + Richard Armitage
I love MANY things about Richard Armtage he is so talented. My favorite quality is how he deeply he studies his character and you lose him during that time. You completely forget that it’s Richard Armitage.
I love how authentic he is in his parts
I think it is his honesty. He doesn’t appear to have been spoiled by all the attention and still values his fans at a level that few celebrities ever do. This is why we try to honor his privacy as much as possible. He is definitely a giver.
I love that Richard is a great man first & a good actor second.
What is there not to love about Richard Armitage?
From his flawless acting to his ruggedly good looks; his mellow voice that has the awful ability to melt hearts and stop you in your tracks which, in seconds, can turn into a raging roar that rivals a Jaguar engine. There’s just so much to love about this beautiful human being.
I love how he is able to bring tears to my eyes or have me on the edge of my seat with every performance. You can practically feel the emotion pouring out with each word. I am so upset that I cannot go watch ‘The Crucible’ and see all this happen in person. Living in Australia sure can suck.
Let’s not forget the child within him. His adorable 5 year old self that emerges from time to time (like your interview!), with that massive grin filled with joy like a child given a giant bag of candy at Halloween. When he smiles he makes everyone else want to smile with him.
Richard is such a lovely person, I wish I had the opportunity to meet him one day, he’s a role model to so many of us. He kinda makes you fall in love with him more and more every day. (That bastard, stealing the hearts of everyone, but that’s okay we still love him.)
Despite being a very tall bloke he has the biggest heart of all things tall and majestic. He’s like a life-size teddy bear I wouldn’t mind having.
I don’t have one single favourite thing I love about Richard because Richard Armitage is my favourite thing about Richard Armitage. He should never change and keep being the awesome person he is.
Mmmmh, I love his talent and dedication as an actor, his voice and his hands
I love everything. RIchard can read a phone book & I would be listening. He is a talented actor. He seems to care about the fans. He was great as John Thornton. He is great as Thorin Oakenshield. He was great as Guy of Gisborne. What isn’t there to love?
I love that Richard writes back stories for his characters that he’s portraying. I love the amount of prep and research he does….it really shows in his acting. He was also my “intro” to Gaskell’s works and that lead to the fandom that is the RARMY.
I love that Richard is an enigma. Nobody really knows anything personal about him and personally I like it that way. He is this lovely, caring, generous man who literally gives his all too every acting performance he has, not only to the fans but to himself. I go weak for a man that speaks with his hands and who gets generally shy when people give him flattering comments about his work and looks. I sometimes think he can’t believe their talking about him in such an uplifting manner. Richard has integrity, something that to be honest is lacking in society in this modern day.
He plays great characters in movies. Definitely a talented actor.
I love that he can play so many characters and ALWAYS win me over. It might be the eyes!
I love how real he is! He seems so genuine and kind! He is so talented as well!
I subscribe via email. I became a fan after watching North & South all at once a few years ago. He poured everything into that role!
I’ve seen him in a lot of movies: “The Hobbit” I & II, “Captain America: The First Avenger “, he’s got some good roles!
I subscribed to your blog. I’ve been watching him since “The Hobbit” films. I think he’s a good actor, has some good roles, and I enjoy watching him on the big screen. 🙂
I love his dedication to every role he takes on. Plus his voice!♡
I love that he is really into his characters no matter how big or small the parts are. He always puts in infinity% into all his roles and even writes background stories for them giving them each their own life-story. He can portray an array of characters and still be able to bring out the worst and best in them for the audience to understand. His facial expressions and eyes always show such deep emotion for all his characters. I also love hoe geeky he is when it comes to Tolkien and how cool and down to earth he is with everyone.
I love the way that he incorporates himself fully into any role that he plays. Richard Armitage is very talented.
I love Richard’s intellect and humble attitude. He has become my favorite actor of all time!
MNadeline R. Wallace says: I think what I find most attractive about Richard Armitage would be his sense of humor and his laugh; also his dedication and thoroughness as an actor
he is very talented..with good sense of humor..and a really cool voice
I love everything about Richard Armitage. He is a beautiful man not only on the outside but more importantly on the inside.
I love Richard for his talent. I am very much looking forward to seeing The Crucible.
Also, his sense of humor. And his voice. I love listening to his audio books. And I have Misty Mountains on my playlist.
