#BreeWatch is officially over with the long-awaited announcement from Starz that the role of Brianna has been cast for Season Two of Outlander!
(Be prepared for spoilers below!)

#BreeWatch is officially over with the casting of this British beauty!
Welcome to Sophie Skelton, who will join the outstanding cast as Brianna, the striking, redheaded daughter of Claire and Jamie Fraser. In Diana Gabaldon’s beloved books, Brianna is strong-minded and intelligent beyond her years – traits inherited from both her mother and her father – with a distinctly scholastic mind-set and a healthy dose of Fraser stubbornness.

Sophie said she is “so excited” to be joining the cast!
With Skelton’s two older brothers named Sam and Roger – book readers will know of Brianna’s close connection to both Sam Heughan’s Jamie Fraser and Richard Rankin’s Roger McKenzie – it seems her casting has an amazing example of coincidence… or could it be fate?
Virtually unknown to US audiences, the 5’8’’ Skelton was born and raised in Woodford, England, UK. She has appeared in several UK television shows – including Doctors, DCI Banks, Waterloo Road, and Foyle’s War – and most recently as a lead in an episode of the BBC drama, Casualty: Forsaking All Others. A trained singer and ballet dancer, she has also performed in various stage productions, including Fiddler on the Roof, Les Miserables, and West Side Story. Upcoming roles include the title character in Ren, an online fantasy/action-adventure series, and in the feature films Another Mother’s Son and Ladybird.

Sophie draws back her bow in the upcoming series, Ren.

Their goals and actions weigh on the very fabric of their relationship, yet armed with the knowledge of the future that lies ahead, Claire and Jamie must work to prevent a doomed Highland uprising and the extinction of Scottish life as they know it.

After the casting announcement, Sophie received a warm welcome on Twitter from her castmates – Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, and Richard Rankin – as well as from Executive Producer, Maril Davis and series author, Diana Gabaldon.
