Welcome to the 2015 Anglophile Channel Awards. Our annual fan vote for Favorite British Artists of the Year!
British artists reigned supreme this year with so many actors enjoying success across multiple genres: Film, Television and Theatre! Their beautiful faces graced magazine covers, movie posters, red carpets, talk shows and more. Their brilliant performances have been lauded by critics and audiences alike. From Benedict Cumberbatch‘s complex portrayal of Enigma code breaker Alan Turing in The Imitation Game to Eddie Redmayne‘s heart breaking turn as Stephen Hawking in Theory of Everything to Emily Blunt‘s musical outing as the Baker’s Wife in Into The Woods…Brits have flown the flag high for Britain this year! Artists such as Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman also enjoyed success on the small screen with hits such as the BBC series, Sherlock and FX’s Fargo, while their Hobbit co-star, Richard Armitage burned up the boards in a West End production of The Crucible. And let’s not forget the Grand Dame’s of British Thespians: Maggie Smith, Judi Dench and Helen Mirren all continuing to turn in performances that will go down in history as some of the greatest!
So how can The Anglophile Channel award just ONE British Artist of the Year? It’s impossible! So this year we’ve decided to change things up a bit…

We have added more categories which means more opportunity for your favorite British artist to win! You will now have the opportunity to nominate your Favorite British Actor/Actress in a Film, Favorite British Actor/Actress in a Television Series and Favorite British Artist of the Year!
Now begins the nominating process! Below are the FIVE categories for which to vote in. If you DON’T see the name of your favorite artist in any given category, be sure to WRITE IT IN!! Every British artist is eligible, we just didn’t want to make the ballots so long.

The TOP FIVE nominees will be chosen from each category. Nominations for The Anglophile Channel Awards will be announced on our New Year’s Eve Countdown Show on December 31st 2014 only on YouTube. The final winners will be announced in January 2015 during Awards Season! The winners of The Anglophile Channel Awards will be personally presented with the beautiful TAC Crystal Award, just like last year’s Favorite British Artist of the Year Award recipient, Richard Armitage! The winners are determined by audience vote combined with the Anglophile Channel producers panel.

This is some awesome group of people you got here. Last year I voted with the RA Army and was so happy he won! Just loved every interview you did with him. HOWEVER!!!! This year I’m all in for Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe. Both have so much talent and both need some attention brought to them so I’m spreading the word.

Richard Armitage – 100%. Incredible year from Proust to Hamlet audio novel to Urban & the Shed Crew to Into the Storm to The Crucible to Sleepwalker and BOFA. He excelled at disparate roles on stage and screen and did it with aplomb. Richard’s the entertainer of the year.

Indeed. “Brilliance” is such an over used word when describing actors. In his case, “brilliance” is a pathetic, anemic attempt to describe the sheer power of his Crucible performance. Words fail me.

British Artist of the Year was so difficult to choose for. So many of my favorites were in there, with the exception of Sir Patrick Stewart.
This is incredibly difficult to vote on, as I have deep respect for so many of the actors listed above. However, I’m going with my love of Outlander, as I originally was skeptical that it could be done realistically, and have been proven soundly in error. Sam and Cait have taken their roles and given them enormous depth and emotion, and I believe that the second half of Season 1 is going to prove even more why they deserve to win.

Two examples of why RICHARD ARMITAGE should win Favorite British Artist of The Year: His stunningly complex and heartbreaking portrayals of John Proctor and Thorin Oakenshield elevate him above all others.
Sam Heughan is the best! He brought to life Jamie Fraser for all of us that love the Outlander series and Diana Gabaldon’s books..
And Caitriona Balfe. I hadn’t heard about her, before the Outlander series. She is simply one of the best actors I’ve ever seen.
this was actually the hardest thing for me. I love too many of them to have to choose between them. I mean they are all different fandoms and its hard to choose between Richard and Benedict and Sam you rip out my heart making me choose
