Welcome to the 2015 Anglophile Channel Awards. Our annual fan vote for Favorite British Artists of the Year!
British artists reigned supreme this year with so many actors enjoying success across multiple genres: Film, Television and Theatre! Their beautiful faces graced magazine covers, movie posters, red carpets, talk shows and more. Their brilliant performances have been lauded by critics and audiences alike. From Benedict Cumberbatch‘s complex portrayal of Enigma code breaker Alan Turing in The Imitation Game to Eddie Redmayne‘s heart breaking turn as Stephen Hawking in Theory of Everything to Emily Blunt‘s musical outing as the Baker’s Wife in Into The Woods…Brits have flown the flag high for Britain this year! Artists such as Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman also enjoyed success on the small screen with hits such as the BBC series, Sherlock and FX’s Fargo, while their Hobbit co-star, Richard Armitage burned up the boards in a West End production of The Crucible. And let’s not forget the Grand Dame’s of British Thespians: Maggie Smith, Judi Dench and Helen Mirren all continuing to turn in performances that will go down in history as some of the greatest!
So how can The Anglophile Channel award just ONE British Artist of the Year? It’s impossible! So this year we’ve decided to change things up a bit…
More Categories!
We have added more categories which means more opportunity for your favorite British artist to win! You will now have the opportunity to nominate your Favorite British Actor/Actress in a Film, Favorite British Actor/Actress in a Television Series and Favorite British Artist of the Year!
Now begins the nominating process! Below are the FIVE categories for which to vote in. If you DON’T see the name of your favorite artist in any given category, be sure to WRITE IT IN!! Every British artist is eligible, we just didn’t want to make the ballots so long.
Vote as many times as you wish!
Nominations Voting Ends December 29th!
The TOP FIVE nominees will be chosen from each category. Nominations for The Anglophile Channel Awards will be announced on our New Year’s Eve Countdown Show on December 31st 2014 only on YouTube. The final winners will be announced in January 2015 during Awards Season! The winners of The Anglophile Channel Awards will be personally presented with the beautiful TAC Crystal Award, just like last year’s Favorite British Artist of the Year Award recipient, Richard Armitage! The winners are determined by audience vote combined with the Anglophile Channel producers panel.

First and foremost, RICHARD ARMITAGE. But also excited with the TV category, because I’ve followed the Outlander series of books for over 20 yrs. Voted for Sam and Cait but RICHARD for both Film and ARTIST of the year! And thank you Marlise, Paul and all the TAC staff for all your great work during the past year!
Great choices – I agree!
Mr,. Armitage is certainly deserving..An amazing gentleman,,His portrayal of Thorin Oakenshield, especially in BOTFA was absolutely fantastic and Oscar worthy indeed ! Truly a gifted, talented man….
RICHARD ARMITAGE FOR EVERYTHING!!!!! Especially artist of the year! Soooooo deserving!
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe both deserve the honors for their impeccable and breathtaking portrayal of Jamie & Claire in Outlander. If you haven’t seen this STARZ series, give yourself a rare treat!
amen, rose!
It is by far the best show in more than 2 decades
The best is yet to come for them too!
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are Jamie and Claire in Outlander. Superb actors and perfect in their roles.

Really torn over Sam and Richard, needless to say that Sam won
Sam and Cate all the way!! They are a beautiful couple on screen and off!!
Sam and Cait all the way
Helen Mirren, Robert Carlyle, Maggie Smith and Richard Armitage are my favorites this year. Thanks to TAC, especially Marlise and Paul Boland, for your work.
Martin Freeman, definitly. Sherlock, Fargo, The Hobbit, on stage with Richard III, The Voorman Problem, he’s just brilliant.
I so agree. He is on fire this year.
Richard for The Hobbit BOFA and The Crucible, and Sam for Outlander.
Absolutely!
sam and cait all the way in Outlander!!!!!!!!!
Sam and Cat (Outlander) all the way. They are the best.
Sam and Cait – Outlander
David for ever……..love this man…go David
Sam Heughan & Caitriona Bailfe of OUTLANDER and all the cast should win recognition for a fantastic adaptation. Kudos to directors, casting, producers and costumes!
So many wonderful films, series and actors but OUTLANDER stands out to me right now! ~K
Have to agree.
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are outstanding in Outlander ! All the best !!!
Come on, this HAS BEEN Richard Armitage’s Year, what with theatre, an audiobook, films… what more do you want from him?
Yes, really hard choices to make – but Richard had the best year of his career and deserves to be awarded!
No contest or question…Richard Armitage for anything he’s nominated for. That man is outstanding and its been a Richard Armitage YEAR!!!
Tom hiddleston my favorite
Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hiddleston, Emma Watson and Tom Hiddleston!!!
All the nominees are talented actors…but the things that I believe make Richard Armitage stand out from the rest are his character, sense of humor and humility, Hard to beat that combination!
Sorry didn’t mean to post twice.

Richard Armitage’s performance in The Crucible was amazing. Such an underrated actor.
Richard Armitage, absolutely! His Thorin is perfect, he’s perfect: funny, good looking ans smart.
Let’s go Luke Evans!! Luke Luke Luke Evans Evans Evans ❤❤❤
I concur!!! Luke Evans all the way! Luke Evans for president!!!
Great actor. ..so cute 😍😍😚 Dracula movie omg one of the best.the Hobbits amazing♡♡
Whatevs, Luke Evans is adorable😍…. #dracula #thehobbit #bardthebowman #vladtheimpaler #lukeevans #kbye
Benedict is the best – he has been superb in Sherlock Season 3 , as Smaug in The Hobbit, Alan Turing in The Imitation Game, and has been working frantically on Richard III and other projects . Can’t wait for the final Cabin Pressure episodes next week .
In the Film & Artist of the Year categories it is the one and only TOM HIDDLESTON (I adore his Adam in “Only Lovers Left Alive”, and can get enough of Cabin Boy James in “Tinkerbell and the Pirate Fairy”, and not to forget his Jaguar ads) for me, whereas my TV artist is SEAN BEAN (from “Legends”). I’m undecided in the Ladies categories though.
Richard Armitage all the way. He has been “it” this year! Love his humility, and intellectual approach to his acting. He truly loves his profession, which in turn come across to his audience as a great performance.
Sean Bean should be on this ballot !! He’s an AMAZING ACTOR and DESERVES to be recognized for the many years of GREAT WORK that he’s done !!
My favourite British actor ( in the tv series LEGENDS ) is SEAN BEAN .
Certainly SEAN BEAN deserves be on the ballot in any of the categories he is eligible for. His performance in Legends was absolutely perfect.
Pingback: Vote for Richard! | Richard Armitage
While I love Outlander, I am confused as to why Caitriona Balfe is considered British?
Richard Armitage !
You might want to put Sam Heughan’s picture with his name!
Richard has to win!
Just Richard, it’s the most famous actor of year. Vote for Him
bless everyone on the list…but just list Cumberbatch on all of it… 😉
Richard Armitage a donner encore le meilleur de lui même cet année. Il a donner beaucoup d’émotions et fait vivre des personnages fort et attachant. Pour moi cette année et encore son année.
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe of Outlander are wonderful actors and so talented.
Sam and Cait! I only wish there was a poll for supporting actor as Tobias Menzies should be winning that category. The cast for Outlander blows me away! Perfection!
Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are absolute perfection as Jamie and Claire. Outlander is by far, the best show to come along in a very long time. The rest of the cast is absolutely wonderful. They should have a Best Villain category. Tobias Menzies is delightfully evil as Black Jack Randall and should win it, hands down. If you haven’t yet seen Outlander, do yourself a big favor and start watching. You’ll be so glad you did.
Benedict Cumberbatch he’s the best actor
